Celebrating the culture, history, and people of Puerto Rico as part of the United States’ Semiquincentennial in 2026.

Puerto Rico does not arrive at this anniversary as an afterthought. For more than a century, the men and women of this island have served in every war the United States has fought. Puerto Rican hands have built, created, governed, healed, and competed at the highest levels of American life. Puerto Rican voices have shaped the language, music, literature, and identity of this nation in ways that cannot be separated from what America is today.

WHAT THIS INITIATIVE IS?

Puerto Rico America250 is the island's official program for the United States Semiquincentennial. It was formally established by Executive Order of the Governor of Puerto Rico and coordinated with the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission.

Puerto Rico is proud to join the nation in marking this once-in-a-generation milestone. Across all 78 municipalities, the program encompasses civic ceremonies, military commemorations, cultural festivals, educational competitions, community service initiatives, and artistic performances, from March 2026 through the official July 4th celebration and beyond.

It is built on a single conviction: that a commemoration of the United States is incomplete without Puerto Rico.

Two hundred and fifty years of America. Every one of them, ours to celebrate.
